Visitors to the Cemetery

I have already referred to the guided tour arranged by Chriss for pupils of the school in Rattelsdof on 18 March (see under Activities of Schools).

Because of the difficult security situation, the Jewish community seems to discourage group visits, so that only a few schools received permission.This has drastically reduced the usual number of visitor we have come to expect.

Nor were there many individual or family members from abroad, posssibly as a sign of the reduction in tourism during the year.

• 6 August
  My nephew Andrew Bud, with wife and four small children from London visited Bamberg on a tour which included Prag. On his return he gave me an enthusiastic report about Bamberg, which was reflected in his entry in the visitors’ book on 6 August. He and his family were shown round places of Jewish and family interest by Chriss Fiebig.
