The Community

The highlights of the year for the Jewish Community in Bamberg were the start of construction of the Community house and Synagogue project, and the discovery of a 15th century Mikwe (ritual bath) I shall report on both at some length.

Religious Instruction

Since 1. October, a second teacher of religion, Mrs Elena Goldbloom, assisted Chasan Rudolph. She teaches the older children and youths.

Thursday Morning prayers

Because of the small attendance, the service is now held only once a month, before the first Sabbath of the month. Taking men and women together, a Minjan seems to be ensured at least until Pesach.
