The Ephraim-Gustav-Hoenlein Genealogy Project was opened on 14 October as a joint project between the Ronald S. Lauder Foundation and the Jewish community of Würzburg. It is intended to assist German Jews with the research into their roots. Jews originating from Germany are welcome to visit the Centre to find out more about their roots. The Centre will be under the direction of Michael Schneeberger.

The Hoenlein after whom the Project is named originated from Ermreuth. A descendent visited Ermreuth after the opening ceremony. Mr. Schneeberger hopes to be up and running early in 2003.. In the meantime, the temporary address of the project is:
