Although plagued by various ailments, having suffered an accident in which she broke her left hand and living part of the year in Villach, Austria, Chriss is still active in Bamberg. Two letters I am reproducing with her permission will testify to her effectiveness as teacher and guide.

One from an educationist at a local specialised school in Appendix 24 gives the views of the young people she taught this summer. It needs no comment. Nor does a letter from a granddaughter of the late Menachem Peled (Karl Wiesenfelder), who visited Bamberg with her parents in the summer (see Appendix 25).
